Two acoustic EPs on one cassette!

Ephemeral

Shedding the black metal aggression and peeling back the skin of production and clouding technicality, allows Colorado’s Deafest to explore the cyclical nature of our world like never before. With an acoustic guitar acting as the prime mover, Deafest use minimal washes of ambiance flowing over the tracks to create a tangible form to the concept of seasons, destruction, and renewal. The final product is a short and daunting feat of contemplation that maintains its focus on that which lies around us, shapes us, yet becomes ignored by so many. It is, in several ways, an ode to appreciation.

From Light and Wind

Placing more weight on the harmonious bond between nature and our emotional response, this EP encapsulates various scenes that many can view on a simple image search but grounds itself in the real life connections that are formed. Keeping the music to an even greater level of skeletal instrumentation, allows the listener to feel the simplicity of beauty created through ourselves and the outside world. Each individual piece contains a breadth of internal complexities, from emotional, instinctual, and to some degrees, spiritual. This stands as a testament to the reciprocal relationship between the two, and how we can feel something awakening inside us from that which, for so many, remains strictly behind an OLED display.
